   This document defines a portion of standard SNMP MIB for additional functions
   not covered by the ADSL Line MIB [1].

   3.  The SNMP Network Management Information Base
   (MIB) module for use with network management protocols Framework

   The SNMP Management Framework presently consists of five major
   components:

   o    An overall architecture, described in the
   Internet community.  In particular, it describes RFC 2571 [11].

   o    Mechanisms for describing and naming objects used and events for
   managing parameters
        the purpose of "Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line" family management.  The first version of interface types, especially including ADSL, ADSL2, and ADSL2+.

   For a detailed overview third version of the documents that describe the current
   Internet-Standard Management Framework, please refer to section 7 message

        and the view-based access control mechanism described in RFC 3410 [RFC3410].

   Managed objects are accessed via a virtual information store, termed
   the Management Information Base or MIB.  MIB objects are generally
   accessed through the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
   Objects in the  Objects in the MIB are
   defined using the mechanisms defined in the
   Structure of Management Information (SMI). SMI.

   This memo document specifies a MIB module that is compliant to the SMIv2, which SMIv2.
   A MIB conforming to the SMIv1 can be produced through the appropriate
   translations.  The resulting translated MIB must be semantically
   equivalent, except where objects or events are omitted because no
   translation is described possible (e.g., use of Counter64).  Some machine
   readable information in STD
   58, RFC 2578 [RFC2578], STD 58, RFC 2579 [RFC2579] and STD 58, RFC
   2580 [RFC2580].

2.  Overview SMIv2 will be converted into textual
   descriptions in SMIv1 during the translation process.  However, this
   loss of machine readable information is not considered to change the
   semantics of the MIB.

   4.  Change Log
   This section tracks changes made to the revisions of the Internet
   Drafts of this document.  It will be deleted when the document describes is
   published as an SNMP MIB module RFC.

   The following changes were made for managing the
   ADSL/ADSL2 version of the document dated
   June 24, 1999.

       - Deleted orginal section 4 and replace it with the change log.
       - Corrected Reference section to include the right RFCs.
       - Deleted portions of the Abstract section so there is no
   overlapping
         between this section and ADSL2+ Lines.  These definitions are based upon the specifications for Introduction section.
       - Rename adslExtConfProfileLineMode to adslConfProfileLineMode
       - Added the adslAtucAlarmConfExtTable which contains the
   following
         objects:

   5.  Introduction

      The purpose of this memo is to define a supplemental set of
   managed objects that is not covered by ADSL Line MIB as defined in T1E1, European Telecommunications
   Standards Institute(ETSI), and International Telecommunication Union
   (ITU) documentation [to be added].

   Additionally
   [10].  This memo addresses the additional objects defined in ITU
   G.997.1 [8].  These additional objects specifically address the
   management framework for New Generation capabilities of ADSL lines
   specified "Lite" as defined by ITU-T G.992.2
   [9].

   6.  Relationship of the Digital Subscriber Line Forum (DSLF) has been taken
   into consideration [DSLFTR90].

   The Supplemental ADSL LINE MIB module is located in with standard MIBs

   This section outlines the relationship of Supplemental ADSL Line MIB tree under MIB-2 transmission.

   The key words "MUST", "MUST NOT", "RECOMMENDED", and "SHOULD" in this
   document are to be interpreted as

   All read-create objects defined in this defines a "block" as "a physical-layer `data buffer'
   over which CRCs are calculated".

   7.2  Structure

   The MIB module SHOULD be stored
   persistently.  Following is an exhaustive list organized to follow the same structure of these persistent
   objects:

   To the ADSL Line
   MIB [1].

   7.3  Additional Managed Objects

   A few objects are added to cover the ADSL "Lite" management and they
   are:

      - ATU-C Transmission System Capabilities
      - Power Management
      - Counters for Fast Retrains and Failed Fast Retrains
      - Counters for Severed Error Second-line and Unavailable Second
      - Clarify Definition of Blocks

      Besides the management of ADSL "Lite", another object needs to be
   added

   Note also that to the interface indices ADSL Line MIB [10] in this order to manage the ADSL line
   profile.  The object is the line mode configuration.

      The MIB definitions are maintained
   persistently.  View-based Access Control Model (VACM) data
   relating attached. The MIB will be branched from
   the ADSL Line MIB [10].

   7.3.1 ATU-C ADSL Transmission System Parameters

        The adslLineConfigTable needs to these SHOULD be stored persistently extended to cover the ATU-C
   ADSL Transmission system enabling.  Objects are defined to enable the
   configuration and monitoring of the ATU-C and ATU-R transmission
   system capabilities as well [RFC3415].

3.  Conformance as the actual ADSL transmission system
   being used.

   7.3.2 Power Management

        Specifically the ATU-C and Compliance

        Section 7.4.15 of ITU G.997.1 specifies fast retrain parameters.
   Fast retrain parameters include two counters: fast retrain count and
   failed fast retrain count.  These two counters need to be added

   7.3.4 Counters for Severed Error Second-line and Unavailable Second

        Section 7.2.1.1.7 and section 7.2.1.1.9 specify two counters
   that are not covered by the ADSL Line MIB [10].  These two counters
   (severed error second-line and unavailable second) are added to all
   the performance tables.

   7.3.5 Clarify Definition of Blocks

   Clarify block definition used by ADSL MIB is specified in section
   7.1.A.

   7.3.6 ADSL Line Mode configuration

   The adslLineConfProfileTable is extended to include a new object that
   allow operator to specify the line mode in a profile entry.
